Being A Doer Part 1: Sand Christians
AWOE Magazine Life Study

And the rain descended, and floods came, and winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon the rock. Matthew 7:24, 25

We are supposed to walk by faith because our salvation comes from God. When we read, hear, and operate in the word of God the devil is powerless like the rain, flood, and winds that blew.

In every season we face we have to rely on the rock to protect us. We have to stand through the storms to come out of them.

Every word of God you hear should go into your heart. There should be no question in your heart or mind about the Lord delivering you.

And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man which built his house upon sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:26, 27

Sand Washes Away Sooner or Later...

There are a lot of Christians who are sand Christians. Sand Christians are surface Christians. They hear the word of God, but don't believe the word.

Have you ever heard someone talk, talk, and talk about something, then they say, but I don't know!

Christians are like that about the word of God. When the rain starts beating against their flesh the carnal man flares up.

Well I know what the Bible said, but I don't know if God will do that for me. Yes, I believe in healing, but the doctors said this... We can't afford to be double minded Christians!

For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man us unstable in all of his ways. James 1:7, 8

We have all of this strife and confusion in the church because we choose what in the Bible we want to believe. When someone does believe differently from us we feel threatened and challenged. Then all of this unbelief causes major division in the church body. Causing denomination after denomination to rise up against each other.
Yet we serve one God.
Believe in Jesus Christ.

And we still fight over what is true and false in the Bible!
When we're supposed to believe God's word because he said it. When we get caught up in unbelieving doctrines that change and twist the word to fit into their unbelief we're walking down the wrong path.

Jesus did amazing things when he was here on earth and the word tells us that he's the same yesterday, today and forever. So why do we get caught up in saying God said that then, but it's not for now?

It's simple. Those thoughts come from reading the word instead of receiving the word. If we truly believed what the Bible said no man or woman could sway our beliefs, but when we don't know the word we can pull our faith apart with doubt. When we allow doubt in we allow the devil in and we can't afford to second guess what God's word has said.

Until next time...

Be Blessed~
