Being A Doer: Part 2
Submit Yourself To God

AWOE Magazine Life Study

Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:7, 8
We keep the struggle when we decide to do our will instead of God's will. When we decide to make ourselves comfortable by compromising the word of God, we are not submitted to God, but to ourselves.
How do you expect to resist the devil if you believe his lies?
As long as you're operating in doubt the devil is going to stick around. Sure satan will always try to bring you down, but with other things.
Nothing annoys me more than Christianís who tell me, "This runs in my family. This is the way of life!"
We have to step out of the carnal mindset of the world, and into the spiritual mindset of God. We are above whatever the devil is trying to take us down with.
If the devil can convince you that the word of God doesn't work then he will keep you in the same bondage as long as you believe that way.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24

When the word of God said, By Jesus stripes you were healed, and you go around talking about how your father had cancer, his father had cancer, and they both died.
That doesn't sound like the word of God to me!

We confess these generational curses then we wonder why this thing comes on us, and we ask, Why God? Why?

When I was younger I use to get sick a lot. I mean flu symptoms in and out of season. I would get as sick as could be, and no one knew what was wrong with me. Then one day in my late teens I saw a teaching on healing. All I remember is by Jesus stripes I was healed. That was the meat of the whole message. So I took that word of God to heart. I said by Jesus stripes I am healed and I've been healed ever since! Praise God! I didn't just say well that sounds nice for that preacher. I took that word of God and kept it in my heart voiced it with my mouth! And I haven't been sick in years praise God! Whenever something does try to attack my body I fight the devil off with the blood of Jesus! I don't confess whatever it is the devil is throwing at me. I resist the devil and he flees!

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

We allow ourselves to be pulled into too many directions as Christians. We get into strife because so-and -so doesn't believe the way we do. We attend churches where the music is good, and leave before the preaching starts. Or we arrive at church just in time for the word of God, but we're just sitting there to earn heavenly points.

When you truly hunger for God you want to be in church good, bad or ugly. Even when you can't get to church you hunger so much for the Lord, you buy the tapes, videos, and watch ministers on TV and online!

We complaint about not having a good home church, but you can have church at home!

Missionaries, the sick, people who live where there are no churches have church at home. Yes, I agree you're not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together with other saints, but when Christians attend unbelieving churches, the devil steals the word!

Believing The Word of God For Yourself

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father which sent me. John 14:24

The word of God cannot be disputed no matter what church you attend or what your pastor tell you.

When it is written, Philippians 4:19, God will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus, it is done!

It is written, " But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5

If you are attending some church that is telling you, God is keeping you broke to keep you humble, come out from among them!

If you're attending a church where they preach God put sickness on you, run out of there!

When people preach a word that doesn't abide in the word of God, the devil us sneaking in that church to steal the word from you right in the sermon!

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

There are no restrictions in the word of God as long as you're walking in the word of God! When it is written you are healed, then you are healed! When it is written in the word of God that he will meet all your needs according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus, then all your needs are met even if you can't see it!

We have to stop believing the report of the devil! Have faith in God!

For we walk by faith, not by sight: 2 Corinthians 5:7

How am I supposed to walk by faith and not by sight? Friend, no one ever said it was easy to walk by faith, but itís better than walking in fear. Itís also better than adapting the word of God to your unbelief by saying, this word doesnít apply to us today.

Anything you donít understand the word says thisÖ

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

We are filled with the Holy Spirit. In anything in the word of God the Holy Spirit will teach us all things!

So in closing this series I want you to believe the word of God for yourself. Don't take my word for it or your pastorís word for it, but dig into the word yourself. See what God has promised. Pray to God about the things you don't understand. And watch the revelation that comes as you press onto the word of God! Praying and seeking the Lord! Take the word of God at face value and go to the Lord for answers!

Be Blessed~
