Bringing In The New Year…
Publishers Letter
Have you ever looked back at a year only to wonder what happened?
Where did the time go?
What happened to your dreams and what about the future?
New Years Eve we were driving to service when those thoughts started to flood my mind.
What happened to 2008?
I know what happened in 2008, my Mom passed away, our lives shaken up and I realized faith isn’t always about getting what you want, but appreciating God for who he is. Knowing that He’s able even when He doesn’t give you everything you want.
More than anything I wanted my Mom healed and to walk out of that hospital.
I didn’t accept the doctor’s reports. I didn’t lose the faith even when it looked bleak.
I just knew no matter what God would take care of my Mom. He did. Maybe not in the ideal way I would have, but He allowed her to go home to be with Him.
Now I’m here, my family is here and we’re to face a new year without the strength and prayers of the woman who raised up in the way we should go – following the Lord.
Even in My Mom’s passing God brought joy, He brought opportunities and He brought a hope for a future. I think in death, like in Christ we find life. As sad as the days have been God has given me joy.
A joy through music, the word, my family and so much more!
So this year I want to encourage you to walk through the sorrow, to look for the joy and to live in the present for the Lord. You have no ideal the plans God has for you! You can’t even imagine how much he loves you.
