A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM JEN G~ A LETTER ABOUT THE STRONGEST WOMAN I KNOW My Mom who raised 5 children, witnessed to countless souls and lived to see her 60th birthday.
Dear Friends,
For the past two months I’ve been in the hospital with my Mom who suddenly became ill in March. Almost immediately the doctors told us that her oxygen was low, she had a blood clot in her leg, low-blood pressure, fluid in her lungs, and they eventually hooked her up to a ventilator. They discovered several things wrong with her, but the doctors said that once her oxygen and blood pressure stabilized she would be able to be treated. There only other concern was if her heart failed would we want her resuscitated and we told them yes for seven weeks.
Even though she was sick she was still very strong and full of faith in God. She truly believed that she would walk out of that hospital. She even said she wasn’t worried.
As always I think our Mom’s faith really fueled ours to do everything we knew to do.
So we brought in pictures, which brought a smile to her face. We played the Bible, music and the word. We went to see her three times a day, prayed with her every night before we left and on March 21, we celebrated her 60th birthday. We bought her a beautiful angel and roses that she really loved.
Needless to say, everyday for 7 weeks and 4 days we went to see her three times a day, we prayed and believed, but on April 24th, 2008 at 3:17 pm our Mom went home to be with the Lord. It wasn’t something we expected.
The doctors had said that the last procedure had worked. It was just a matter of her waking up completely. So when we walked into the hospital at 3:30 pm that day you can only imagine the shock that came when my little brother received a phone call from the nurse telling him that our Mom had suddenly flat lined at 3:17 pm.
Then only to find out that the doctor refused to resuscitate her after we had repeatedly told them to was awful. I can’t tell you how much it hurt to see her lifeless body in that hospital bed. Our Mom had gone on to be with the Lord. With the Lord she is! Praise Him! It's been a rough couple of weeks, but God has been faithful and supplied every need!
Our Mom was buried May 23, 2008 at a beautiful cemetary overlooking the mountains. Thank-You all for your prayers and support!
Many Blessings~
