Making A Choice to Do Good

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21

Have you ever noticed how when we react badly to someone who has acted badly towards us the situation seems to get worst?

When we allow our emotions to control us there's no good in that.
Why? Because many times we act out in anger just to show the other person up.
Yet the Bible says to overcome evil with good.
I know it's mind boggling when someone is saying they hate you and you turn around and say you love them in Christ! They don't know what to think!
Even though they may get angrier right there, just think about what happens when they calm down. Those words will linger on - they love me in Christ...

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Luke 6:35

Whether or not that's your reaction is besides the point.
The issue is showing love whether it's spoken or to be able to love them enough not to fight and argue. To do something nice for them when they least expect it.

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalms 34:14

Friend, you have to make an active decision to turn from evil, walk in peace and to operate in it. For me that's what doing good is about. The above verse says to turn - that's something you have to make a choice to do. Then it says do good - it doesn't say you want to do good, but to do it. Then to seek peace. That means you're in search for it and once you find it you have to go after it!
Make that your goal today!!!

Many Blessings~
