AWOE: What is S.E.A.L.S.?
S.E.A.L.S.: Well first, let me give you what S.E.A.L.S. stands for. Saints Engaged Against Lucifer 4 Souls!!! Yes ma’am! The keyword being “engaged.” Any battle requires an engagement and we are taking it to his neck! Christians have been on the defensive against satan for too long, it is time we take the fight to him, and that is what we are doing! The ministry consists of a large group of individuals, as well as other ministries, connected in spirit to bring the truth of Jesus Christ to those individuals forgotten or counted as less than by the mainstream. Coming equipped with individual testimonies, personal strengths and the holy Word of God…we are not afraid to step in faith where we are led, and come firm with the truth of the Lord in order to speak directly to the hearts of the hurting. That is our commission!
AWOE: What is the mission? The mission of S.E.A.L.S. is simple.
S.E.A.L.S.:We are being sent on missions behind the enemies' lines to reach the lost & dying before satan can destroy them.
THIS IS OUR MISSION AS S.E.A.L.S. We are real WARRIORS for Christ who are here to promote the Kingdom of God, to lift up other Saints & to rain havoc on satan & all of Hell. We do this by taken the lost from him & leading them to God. This is not a game, this is where the walk meets the talk and we are committed to making change in the world by bringing that truth to the streets.
S.E.A.L.S.: How was it birthed?
Funky 1s story: I grew up in a Christian home. My father & mother along with several other family members started evangelizing in 1981 & traveled the nation for approximately 3 years until 1984 as The Clown Crusades for Christ. As a child I was a part of this ministry along with my two younger siblings. My Father then became a pastor of a church in Nebraska & pastured for another 2 years. I only point this all out because I new what it was like to live for God, but I still ran away from the Lord & his calling on my life. I served God very wishy-washy for several years, but finally made a REAL commitment to God in November 2003. I sold out for God 110% & began to grow & mature spiritually. I had known for many years that God had a calling on my life & I began to seek his face daily for his direction. Having spent many years in the gang lifestyle as well as the sales and use of drugs, I felt that God was training me to minister to the gang members, the homeless, the downtrodden and the un-churched people of the world, as well as the Christian. God gave me the name S.E.A.L.S. Ministryz and a small part of the mission statement, and then he told me to create a myspace group page. I did as God told me & just a short time later, God led Andrew Pruett a.k.a. PZ to my myspace group and the rest is history. The connection that we share is truly ordained and blessed by God.
PZ story: Wow! The beginning of the journey huh? It was definitely a “G” thang (God thang that is!) Naturally, neither of us had any idea of what was going to become of what God was putting together when we came in contact. It started for me actually back in 98…when I got saved. Come 2000, I hit a very turbulent time in my life…and was looking to God for answers. I lost my first daughter when she was born at only 22 weeks, and then a couple months later I lost my grandmother. You talk about confused, angry, upset…that was me! I was praying to the Lord, asking Him for guidance, direction, and answers. And I was hearing nothing. But there was a reason. Long story short, me being angry…I consciously turned my back on God. Why would I continue struggling to live right, when God didn’t find me worthy enough to answer the questions I had??? So for five years, I turned my back on God, and he honored that decision. It was during those five years that I made a big huge nasty mess of my life. Fathered four children by four women, drinking, smoking a gang of weed, and just acting a fool. Well, God allowed me to land flat on my back, but He was right there with His hands open on June 15, 2005 when I confessed to my wife that I had been having an affair with her sister and she was pregnant. Immediately upon repenting, the Lord revealed to me a very powerful passage. I picked up the bible for the first time in 5 years; it immediately opened up to a tithing envelope with the following scripture on it, scribbled in my first wife’s handwriting. Isaiah 1:15. As I opened up the bible to that scripture, I continued reading and it went like this:
Isaiah 1:15
When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide my eyes from you;
even if you offer many prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are full of blood;
16 wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds
out of my sight!
Stop doing wrong,
17 learn to do right!
Seek justice,
encourage the oppressed. [a]
Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow.
18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best from the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword."
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
S.E.A.L.S.: WWWHOOOOAA!!! Now is THAT a wake up call or what?!
The following week the Lord revealed to me why He had not answered my prayers the five years previous. This is a very important point to learn, and to remember when seeking the Lord. It was unrepented sin. Even as I was attempting to live for the Lord, I was still bound by the chains of secular hip-hop. And looking back, there were many times I felt the conviction, but refused to give it up. Well, our Lord honors our choices. They may not please him, but that is the free will. And it is when we use that free will to bring honor to His name, that he is most pleased with us.
IMMEDIATELY after revealing that to me, I receive a message from Leethal on myspace out of nowhere. You see, it was divine appointment. This brother is the first Christian friend I made since coming back, and now we are best friends…as close as blood brothers and he is a S.E.A.L.S. Ministry representer! He turned me on to a brother by the name of Jacob Izrael and I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! THE MUSIC ON THIS SIDE OF THE FENCE IS THIS HOT??!! WHOOA!!
That same day, I was moving a lot of stuff out of my house. I’m telling you, I was like Fred Sanford..I had about 4 couches, 2 love seats, extra beds…all that! Anyway, I took them over to the dump spot in the middle of the projects and folks just flocked and took it up faster than I could take it out. I was driving past one apartment and I could see it was completely empty. I asked the young man if he needed a couch and was very excited. Hang on; this is where it gets good!
As he had one end of the couch, and was backing in and I had the other. And as soon as I walked in the front door, I noticed a huge picture of our Lord Jesus Christ on his wall, in the background they had their CD player bumping Snoop Doggs “Murder Was the Case.” And it was right then the spirit spoke into my heart, “If you were in that position five years ago, trying to serve me yet bound by the chains of hip hop…how many others do you think are out there in that exact same situation?” Jesus gave me a mission; I immediately began burning CDs and giving them to folks. I left my newly recorded Jacob Izrael with that young brother and never felt more complete, more satisfied, more at peace than I did at that very moment. In appreciation, he gave me his Prince “Purple Rain” CD. It was his best CD he had that did not have cursing in it. I smiled, thanked him and thanked the Lord. That was the beginning of the mission God placed in my heart, to share with the world the message through holy hip hop.
The next week, I was led to Shawn’s myspace profile and read his testimony “From Satans Thug to Being covered by the Blood” and it really hit home. I reached out to him, and the connection in spirit was instantaneous. He had already been given the S.E.A.L.S. Ministryz but it only consisted of a group on myspace. NOW…was God’s time!
