AWOE Magazine is a Christian digital and print magazine created to discover and share the stories behind the people who inspire us, the voices we know and the new faces we are still discovering. We want readers not only to experience what others create, but also to understand the hearts and lives behind it. Behind every song, film, book, creative work, and personal journey is a story worth telling.

We believe the most meaningful stories are often found between the highlights. They are found in the questions, the growth, the setbacks, the victories, and the faith that carries us through every season of life.

OUR STORY

Where It All Began

AWOE Magazine began in 2005 with a simple purpose: to be a source of encouragement for those who feel alone, discouraged, or hopeless.

For Founding Editor Jen Gault, that purpose grew out of her own journey.

Growing up, Jen experienced seasons of depression, even as a Christian teenager. During those years, Jesus, Scripture, books, music, and entertainment became steady sources of comfort, encouragement, and hope. They reminded her that God was near, even in life’s hardest moments, and that stories have the power to bring light into dark places.

The Stories That Shaped Her

Music became an especially meaningful part of Jen’s journey. Growing up listening to bands like Relient K, DC Talk, Sonicflood, and Delirious?, she found songs that met her in the moments of everyday life. Those songs reflected questions, struggles, faith, and hope, reminding her that Jesus was always listening, whether through traditional prayers spoken on her knees or quiet conversations with God throughout the day.

Reading, writing, and creativity also became ways for Jen to explore the world, challenge her thoughts, and discover truth. From a young age, she loved sharing Scripture, poems, and devotionals with others as a way to encourage people and remind them they were not alone.

That passion for storytelling, creativity, and encouragement became the foundation for AWOE Magazine.

Continuing the Mission

Today, that same heart continues to guide everything we do. Through thoughtful conversations, interviews, and meaningful stories, AWOE Magazine seeks to highlight the people behind the creativity, celebrate the faith journeys that shape them, and share stories that remind others they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Behind every creation is a person. Behind every person is a story. And every story is worth sharing.
