AWOE MAGAZINE SPECIAL ROCK EDITION
CELEBRATING THE ROCK MOST HIGH
Featuring Another Dream, Promise Me Forever & Separated

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer..."
2 Samuel 22:2

Growing up I was exposed to a lot of music.
My brothers played guitar, the drums and listened to Stryper.
Slowly, but surely I figured out that God gives us gifts so we can reach people right where they are. I believe that Christian rock music is a great example of the workmanship of God. The sound, the style and the bands who bring Christian rock together are called to reach people who are drawn to rock music. Where a bands life may not reflect that of the listener, the music and the passion for Christ could very well be an instrument to leading them to Jesus.
I think 2 Samuel 22:2 represents what Another Dream, Promise Me Forever, and Separated... Read Jen G's Music View

AWOE MAGAZINE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
ANOTHER DREAM
Jen G: Taking you back a few years, in 2005 you guys won the Battle of The Bands in Cheyenne. Tell me as Christians how did you guys stay Christ like without getting caught up in the drama of the competition?

Peter: That was a long time ago, and I honestly did get caught up in a little of it. For the most part, it was just another show, hoping we would win, but we were just happy to be playing on a sound system that had monitors!! I try to make it a point not to put other bands down. It takes guts to get on stage and share something you have created.

Promise Me Forever Interview
Derrick Smith Celebrating His Wife...

WDJD: I would have to say me meeting my wife. Michael and I have very similar stories, I too dated my now wife as a kid. And my wife and I really just went different ways, but God took us both from the ways we were living and put us together again to help each other out of the places we were. She is my angel. Thank God.

A TRIBUTE TO MARTIN LUTHER KING
IN THE WORDS OF THE COMMISSARY

AWOE: How did Martin Luther King's life inspire faith to you personally?

COMMISSARY: Dr. King's faith challenged me to become more bold. He faced numerous obstacles when he took a step of faith and decided to fight for the rights of his oppressed people. There were no guarantees that he would ever achieve success or reach his goals, but he stuck in there and I highly respect him and admire him because of that.

AWOE: What do you hope people from all cultures remember about him?

COMMISSARY: His dedication. He literally died for what he believed in.

AWOE: How do you feel his love for people is symbolic to God's unconditional love for us?

COMMISSARY: When Christ said that we should love our neighbors as ourselves, He also said that on that one commandment alone lies all of the rest of them. So in Dr.King's love for people, he was just obeying God's commands. God has infinite love for us and is patient with us, just as Dr. King was patient with those who hated him and opposed the Civil Rights Movement.

AWOE NEWS REPORT: AMERICAN IDOL'S SIMON COWELL IS LOVED FOR EXPOSING HIDDEN TALENT
In 2002 American Idol paved the way for reality television competitions centered on America’s pop culture. The infamous Simon Cowell very wittingly brought Britain’s U.K. Pop Idol to American soil under the mask of what millions call American Idol. Seven seasons and six winners later, shows how Simon Cowell has a warm interior towards talent and the newfound fans that tune in each season. As the father of singing competitions Cowell's brass has often been criticized, but not enough credit has been given to him for his eye for talent or business sense. Enabling contestants from across the USA to compete for their dream of a major recording contract and to sing in front of millions of viewers...

WHAT YOU MISSED...
My Reality, The Stu Larsen Interview
I rebelled. I made some BIG mistakes. I ended up having a 6 month affair with another woman before coming clean, then still struggled to make good decisions, and ended up losing my wife and a lot of friends along the way. So I kind of walked away from it all for a while. My turning point came in 2005. My life was a mess.

The Chigger Hill Boys & Terri
True Bluegrass

Terri: I think from early on we made a silent commitment to God to follow where he leadeth. That commitment has become more vocal recently because folks ask us a lot why we don't play secular music. But God had placed us in this particular genre and since His plan is perfect, who of us could argue with His direction. The older I grow, the more I understand that only what is done for His kingdom will matter. Where else could we go but to the Lord?

Andreas Sandlund
International Ambient Soul

Grew up in a Christian environment but somewhere along the way it became a personal experience though I can't tell the exact day. I think I was 14 or 15 when I was on a summer camp. There during that week something happened inside of me. When I came home I started reading the Bible a lot and now it was alive.
